OUR VALUES

We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for our entire community.  We ask that everyone read through these guidelines and values, and do their best to follow them.

Body Neutrality: We celebrate all bodies and prioritize body neutrality, recognizing that each body is unique and should be treated with equal respect and dignity. We understand that body positivity is a lofty goal, and that not everyone can or wants to feel positively about their bodies all the time, and that is okay. We work to redirect our energy towards self-care, well-being, and appreciation for what our bodies can accomplish. Please refrain from negative self-talk in the studio.

Body Commentary: We firmly believe that comments about others' bodies are inappropriate and can be harmful. We encourage a culture of kindness, where students and staff refrain from making any judgments or comments about others' bodies or appearance, even if it is intended as a compliment.

Pronoun Respect: We honor and respect each individual's gender identity by using correct pronouns.

Diet-Free Zone: Our studio is a place where conversations about diets, weight loss, and restrictive eating are not allowed.

Be Present: We value being fully engaged and present in the studio. To create a focused and supportive atmosphere, we ask our community to refrain from using their phones during classes.

Video Privacy:  Students may film themselves for portions of class, but may not film others without their explicit permission, even if for personal use. If permission is obtained and videos are shared online, please blur or obscure fellow students in the background (unless by specific agreement).

Acknowledgment of Strippers: We recognize and honor the stripper origins of pole dance. This art and our community would not exist without the work of strippers, and we are privileged to practice what they created. We wholeheartedly welcome strippers and sex workers in our studio.

Land Acknowledgment: We acknowledge that our studio sits on the ancestral land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People past and present, and honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.
